DR. DAN BRANDON - Elder


Dan and his wife, Nancy, have a son, Dan, Jr., a granddaughter, Casey, and a daughter, Melissa, who is a member of Parkwood. Dan has been a member of Parkwood since 1968 and has a passion for missions work in Honduras with the Chorti Indians. Dan graduated from Bowman-Gray School of Medicine and is a retired emergency medicine physician.


STEPHEN BURGESS - Elder


Stephen was born in Waynesville, NC, grew up in the beautiful North Carolina mountains, and spent his teenage years in Gastonia. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1989 and has found teaching and discipleship to be his most fulfilling areas of service. He and his wife, Angela, have been members of Parkwood since 2006, and have three wonderful children: Andrew, Daniel and Anna.


JIM WRIGHT - Elder


Jim and his wife, Brenda, have two daughters and two grandchildren. Jim and Brenda have been married since 1968. Jim was born in Shelby, NC and went to school in Kings Mountain. He came to faith in Christ at the age of 12. Jim has owned and operated his own auto body business for 40 years in Gastonia. Jim and Brenda have been members of Parkwood since 1982.


STEVE NELSON - Elder


Steve and his wife, Debbie, have been married since 1984 and have one son and one daughter. Steve was born in Haiti to missionary parents. He made a profession of faith at 14. He attended Columbia Bible College; served 3-1/2 years in the Army; and, enrolled and graduated from Pacific Lutheran University School of Nursing. Steve and Debbie moved to Gastonia in 1994 serving with Lumiere Medical Ministries. Steve retired from Gaston County Health Department after 16 years of service. They have been members of Parkwood since 1997.


JOEL ABERNATHY - Elder


Joel and Rena have been members at Parkwood since 2006, but have been married for over 20 years. Their daughters, Anna and Mary, are plugged into the high school ministry. Joel has been discipled and has discipled men in his life. He has served Parkwood as the Deacon Chairman for the last 3 years.


JIM BROOME - Elder


Jim and Cathy have celebrated 32 of years of marriage, and they have been members of Parkwood for nearly the same amount of time. They have one daughter, Hannah, who is in college. Jim has served as a deacon as well as a variety of other areas such as Connections. Jim has always had a passion to love on everyone he meets or visits.


DAVID MORROW - Elder


David and Kathy have been members of the Parkwood church family for over thirty years. Their four sons, Josh, Jonathan, Matt, Andrew, were baptized at Parkwood, and God has allowed the Morrows to see their children grow, marry, begin their own families and mature in their walk with God. Throughout the years David has served as a deacon, the deacon chairman, a growth group leader, and he has served with the Chorti Leadership Team.


KEN McDANIEL - Elder


Ken and Rita have been married for 45 years. They have two sons and 4 grandchildren. Ken came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 8 or 9. Ken has served Parkwood in teaching the Bible to kids, leading in Growth Groups, and has been the Chairman of Deacons.


TIM PRATT - Elder


Tim and Christa have been married since the early 90’s. They and their 2 daughters, Cara and Anna, have been a part of the life of Parkwood since 2013. Tim has led his family to serve the local church consistently, and the Pratts are now serving God in Lake Wylie and leading a Growth Group.


STEVE SCHULTZ - Elder


Steve has been married to his wife, Michelle, for 32 years. Steve and Michelle have been involved with Parkwood in Kings Mountain since that campus began. Christopher, their son, serves with Parkwood, as well. As a couple they have been throughout East Africa and other parts of the world on short-term mission trips with previous congregations. Steve and Michelle also pour themselves into leadership of a Growth Group.
