Leadership Structure at Parkwood
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. We seek to follow his leadership in all things. The Lord has set forth in his Word the leadership structure for his Church. The two offices of the Church are Pastors/Elders and Deacons.
Parkwood is led by a capable team of God-called Pastors/Elders. We use the term “Pastor” to identify those who receive their living from the work of ministry. “Elders” are those who voluntarily serve the Lord’s Church as shepherds alongside those who are “double-honored”.
Parkwood is served by a team of Deacons who are responsible as team leaders in various areas of ministry. The Deacons involve others in carrying out those servant responsibilities so that the Pastors/Elders can devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Areas of ministry include: First Impressions, CD duplication, hospital visitation, Baptism, Communion, van ministry, helping hands, and home-bound visitations.
Every member is a minister by the power of God. The congregation makes all major decisions together. Members are expected to engage on a level of worshipping, studying, and serving.
